Default Do intermediate riders really notice a difference?

I go riding around 10x a year for the past 10 years. I'd call myself an intermediate rider? - can bomb down the blues and most blacks when conditions are perfect. But no terrain/park riding.

I'm 5'6' 140 lb, and just bought a Burton Stigma 152cm. I was an idiot and didn't do my research, this board is mainly for freestyle, and i was looking for something a bit longer for mostly all-mountain riding and with the option to start learning tricks in the parks. I realize I could have gotten a MUCH better board! I'm betting this one is too long for having fun in the terrain parks, and too flexible for going fast down the mountain. But will I really notice it? I have been on a sucky old board for the past 10 yrs and I'm sure anything is an improvement from what i had - but what are the odds of me hating it on my first run? Esp if I don't have the option to trying out a bunch of different boards before buying one. Thanks!
