Happened to stop by a snowboard shop this past weekend and they were having a crazy sale. Picked up a 08 K2 Darkstar 155 cm for over half off.
So here's the question, do you think it will be too small for me? I'm 5'11" and about 190lbs. I wear a size 10.5 Salomon Dialogue boot and have Burton Custom "L" bindings. I'm fairly experienced and having been boarding for almost 10 years. I have had nothing but big wide boards starting with a 161 Wide Salomon board many years ago to my current ride which is a 159 Wide Burton Cruzer. I really like to Cruzer for just bombing down the mountain but it feels a little clumsy when I pass through the park, take kickers, or just need a little bit more maneuverability. My plans are to keep the Cruzer for powder days and use the Darkstar for the rest. I usually ride the whole mountain and pass through the park on my way down and am usually looking for natural terrain jumps on the runs. Will I be disappointed? Thanks! |

I say it is too small. Ok hear me out, because there are def people who are going to disagree. The darkstar is a good board but it is a little on the softer side. I'm 180 and ride the 157 and I find that even that's a little soft for me. I also have a size 9 boot and the 157 waist is 24.9 which is about middle of the road for my boot size. So your 155's waist is 24.1 and that is really narrow for a 10.5 boot. You got a sick deal on it but I do think you'll be limited by its size. But thats only my opinion, you may ride it and think its fine for you.
