Bataleon The Jam + ROME The Arsenal
this fall I need a new snowboard and binding.
I'm 198cm(6.50 ft) tall and weight about 100kg(220.46 lbs).
Shoe Size Euro 48 / US 13
I'm riding for more than 10 years now; the most time offpist(backcountry?).
Now I found these:
Bataleon The Jam 2013 - 161 Wide
ROME The Arsenal Black Bindung 2013 - L/XL
Do you think this combination would fit to me.
Here I pay about 370€(500$) for both.
Any other recommendations?
Greetings from Bavaria
I dont know much about the arsenal bindings, I am a little lighter then you with the same size boots. I own a 161W Jam, It is very stiff, good for bigger jumps, I am not a huge fan of it overall just makes me the day kinda dull. (at least as dull as boarding can be)
Don't really understand the last sentence.
dull = slow ???
Do I understand it right, that you wouldn't recommend the board to me?
It depends on what you want, The board will fit you 100% fine.
The board does not ride slow at all, it is designed for pipe and big jump lines.
I found it dull because it is super stiff and you cant play around on it all that easily. Butters, jibs etc are a pain to pull off.
If you enjoy bombing downhill and hitting 30+ foot kickers its a good choice.
If you ride a mix of terrain and features there are better choices.
It performs very well in powder also.
What I am saying is if going really fast and racing to the bottom is fun for you it is a good choice, that just isnt how i ride. The board is very stiff (im 210 pounds)
I would pick other bataleons over it but I dont know what you enjoy about snowboarding and you didnt tell us so I was just giving you my personal impression.
The problem is that the Jam is the only (non-urban/non-Park-)Board made by Bataleon that comes in wide, except the Goliath and thats is to expensive for me.
And I need wide... (Shoe Size Euro 48 / US 13)
its a good match i think, i used that exact set up a couple years ago and liked it a lot. that board likes to go fast
