Salomon Patrol '07 or Nitro Pantera LX '08??
I'm looking at getting a new board as I'm going into my 3rd season of riding and consider myself to be getting towards an advanced stage. My current board (A Hammer Motion Series, 163cm x 265mm) was great to learn on, but I now find it's way too flexible. I want to get something stiff, wide and able to cope with icy conditions (I live in Montreal, so apart from a couple of trips out west, it's all QC and New England hills for me). Both of the above mentioned boards are available on eBay at good prices (ie. Payment and shipping for less than C$400!), but I'm just not sure which is the better board? Any advice?
Also, what's the difference between the regular Pantera and the LX? I know the LX is better, but can't seem to find out why exactly!
I would probably go for the 165cm (I'm almost 6'1" and weigh 185lb) which has a 25.9mm waist. I've got huge feet and boots, so I'm wondering if the .5cm smaller width would really make much difference? They do have a Pantera Wide which would be 27.3cm wide, but I can't seem to find a good deal on that one.
The Patrol is 26.2mm wide. It's also the model from 2yrs ago..... Any good?
Thanks for the suggestions!
