looking for a new board that won't break the wallet - Snowboarding Forum

Hi all,

I went went for around 10-12 times snowboarding. My setup right now is a 151 burton clash, ride ex bindings, and burton moto boots.

I find that the board doesn't give me very good stability at higher speeds - maybe it's a little short. and I also get intense foot cramps with my burton moto boots if I don't consistently go snowboarding all the time.

anyways, I was hoping to purchase something of last year's model but I'm not sure what to look for. I just ride park, and ocassioanly, hope to ride whistler.

Check out the Atomic Hatchet. Great park board for very low price in comparison to other boards on the market. Or check out the Atomic Axum. pretty much the brother of the Hatchet. both have a 2.5 bevel which will be forgiving as far as not catching edges goes, and won't snag up on rails. Both are primarily park boards, but can be taken outside the park, and both GREAT value.

I've been looking around on google, but didn't find much luck. Do you know what are some good places to look for the hatchet or axum board of last year's model?

I found one site, can anyone give me any feedback on this particular board?

the-house.com is probably your best bet. both the Hatchet and Axum models they have there are last year's models (07/08). Not really sure what the difference between the regular Axum and the Axum LTD are besides graphics. I'd have to look into it. But yeah, Axum and Hatchet, both great boards for great price
