Advice for pow/all mtn board plz!
I've been riding a 2005 Ride Decade 162W for far too long. The traditional camber has been nice, I feel like I'm in plenty of control, and it really has no speed limit. But the board is a damned heavy thing and can be a chore to turn especially in thicker glades. And it just doesn't float as well as I want it to in pow. I live for trees and pow, sometimes charge fresh grooms, never park and rarely jib.
Hereís what Iíve been looking at. Feel free to suggest something else too!
K2 Ultra Dream.. lots of praise for the 2013 model. is flat-to-rocker that great?
Burton Barracuda.. i really like the s-rocker idea, the way the camber lifts the nose when depressed
Jones Flagship.. a little more traditional camber but with those exaggerated rocker tips
Thanks for any advice yall can offer. Oh and I hail from Sandpoint, ID.
Good choices so far.
The Cuda will obviously be the most powder focused, the Flagship the most freeride, and the Ultra in between the two. All will float well, the Cuda will be a little different on groomers with the S-Rocker. Its not super comfy switch either. Super surfy and fun in pow and quick in the trees though. The Flagship will be the most bomber at speed and the more powerful ride. The Ultra is the compromise between the three and in my opinion the funnest ride. It'll carve super good, feels light under foot, floats awesome, and is switch capable.
