Are youth snowboard made the same as adults? - Snowboarding Forum

My girlfriend was picking out boards for xmas and she only 4'11 so she wants to ride a 140 or 143. she found on board from burton that she likes but its is for youth. biggest size is 143 which does fit her but my question is are they made the same? I was told kids boards use crappy material. Is that true?

I would say buy a bigger girlfriend.

but with the board dont go by height...go by weight.

they're made the with same method as adult snowboards but youth boards are more geared towards beginners in terms of quality and flex.

im looking to buy my first board. im 5', 115 lbs. i wanted to know if anyone had any insight/experience to add as far as youth vs womens as well.
