You will have some drag on hard carves especially if you have a zero'd out back foot. I roll with a 11.5 and I am 205 and all-mountain I ride a 164 cust x wide. I'm duck and I still noticed some drag on the cust x 164 and that is slightly wider than the cust so I went to the wide vers of the x. An ICS board allows you to center your bindings somewhat, but you may still have drag. 11.5 is really pushing it on a 251 mm ww board.
My personal experience has helped me form an opinion as a footsy rider that I'd rather ride the edge of a less nimble board (see wide) than my toes. Then again, that's just me. I've seen a few rental shops demo the custom so I would strongly recommend you spend the little extra cash to ride a day on one and see for yourself. |

A lot of the manufacturers advertise their "wide" boards for sizes 11 and up. "wide" usually means 25.8 or 26.0 waist width at least. But, they also seem to think that you can ride size 10.5 boots on any board, and it's a small difference between 10.5 and 11.5!
If you have your stance set up with big angles, I bet it'd work. If you don't, I dunno. What are you riding now? Can you can test ride one, or at least rent a board with the same width? edit: idleline beat me to the punch, and he actually rides the same boots and board, so listen to him! |
