My First Board
I went out snowboarding once with my wife last year and really enjoyed it. I want to start snowboarding this year and found two boards that I like. I would like to know if anyone can help me with the pros & cons of these two boards or suggest a better option.
I am 6'2" (188cm) and weigh 210lbs (95kg)
I am just looking to do some free riding...not tricks or time in the park.
I am trying to choose between:
Rome Tour Wide 2012 161cm $227.90
Burton Bullet wide 2013 160cm $244.96
I want to use the Flow Quattro Bindings 2013 $116.90
Any suggestions on which board might be better or insights you may have?
All your help is greatly appreciated!
Rider height is not a factor but foot size is a big one (along with weight).
Please measure your foot using this method:
Kick your heel (barefoot please, no socks) back against a wall. Mark the floor exactly at the tip of your toe (the one that sticks out furthest - which toe this is will vary by rider). Measure from the mark on the floor to the wall. That is your foot length and is the only measurement that you will want to use. Measure in centimeters if possible, but if not, take inches and multiply by 2.54 (example: an 11.25 inch foot x 2.54 = 28.57 centimeters).
Might look at a K2 Brigade, you had the same order I had when I was looking to start out, I rode it up until I was ready to start hitting advanced slopes. The Brigade is flat based for carving and bombing with some lift in the tips to keep your edge from catching. The board is tons of fun and has a nice damp flex which is nice for butters and forgiving, but still has enough pop for learning to ollie. My friend started on the Bullet and he has no reason to complain either. The Bullet is much more a freestyle deck than an all mountain one, so you'll give up some edge hold and some stability for more forgiving landings and easier butters. I have never seen or rode on a Roam Tour so I can't comment on it, but I wouldn't discourage you from looking into it if it piques your interest.
Thank you guys so much for your help and advice! You are very kind.
I have measured my feet and they are 26cm long.I wear a size 12 shoe. That may answer your question.
Eat Sleep Shred:
I just looked a a website that carried the K2 Brigade. I looks very well done and has a reasonable price. I am ordering my board 3 days from now and you have made my decision much better.
