Question Potential Setup

Hi everyone,

I'm getting my first board soon and I want to order online. I've decided on the Artec Hyperfuzz and I like the Burton Cartel Bindings. I'll be getting large bindings and I'm not sure if they'll create any toe or heel drag for me. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could find that out? I'll be renting boots from the mountain for now because I'm a bit short on cash. I am 5' 10", around 140 pounds, 15 years old and still growing. I am a size 11 shoe in most brands.

This is the board. I'll be getting it in 154:

The bindings:

The board dimensions are on the website if you scroll down a bit.

Thanks in advance.

Should I even get large cartels based on my shoe size?

Yes for the bindings in large you will be fine, how much do they charge for boots? Cause I think it was like 20 at my mtn and depending how much you go could just get some boots that fit great just low on the tech.

I think it's around 20 for me too. Would the bindings be too big for the board though? I'm worried about toe and heel drag.

Buy local and all your problems will be solved.

Large bindings will be fine, I have large bindings on a board that's slightly wider(.2cm) and don't have any heel/toe drag.

If you're not buying properly fitting boots you're doing it wrong. Highly doubt you'll be an 11 in boots, probably a 10/10.5

One other thing, you'll likely need to adjust your bindings to fit the rental boots every time unless you're renting identical pairs of shitty boots.

The money you would spend on renting boots you could have bought a pair of last season mid grade boots or a slightly used pair off craigslist or ebay.
