i'm from missouri...what's that all about?

hey so I'm actually from Missouri, but I've been snowboarding since I was 12 maybe once a year or every two years. I'm gonna move to Colorado in the next few years and I'd like to start gathering equipment so when I get there I'm ready to go.

So here's my info:
Age - 20
Height - 5'7"
Weight - 160 lbs. not gaining, losing if anything
Boot Size - 9
Style - freeride with some freestyle

So the classic question is, what board sizes do you suggest? I was thinking around 150 because I'm a little heavier for someone my height. My budget is around $200, unless it's just an amazing deal. So please give me any and all suggestions. What about the Flow Merc?

If you freeride you def. need something longer. For freestyle id go 151-154 for you. But if your looking for a freeride with little freestyle perhaps 157 should be fun. Is your budget $200 for the board or $200 total. You might want to check ebay for some last season gear. Do your research. You want your boots to be comfy or else your day will be shitty on the slopes. If you find an awsome board with uncomfy boots, GL.

I agree if you are not going to use it now just save money and buy it when you need it. In three years time you could have more than enough money to buy whatever you needed like all new board, bindings, boots, jacket, pants, etc.

I am the same hight and weight as you .... currently I ride an atomic polarity ... i LOVE it the size is a 151 how ever I used to ride a 156 and I have been on a 161 (thats a little to big) I would say for your height and weight stick to something in the 151-156 range! I personaly am looking at going just a little longer to a 152 or 156 also I want to get the salomon ivy ....

thanks, my budget was around 200 for just the board, and I usually make it out to the mountains at least once a year, so I thought it would be nice to at least have my own boots. because it seems like the ones i've worn as rentals usually blow. so it sounds as if 154 is a fairly good compromise for everyone.

heres a review i found on your board... Board Reviews Search Results

not sure if it will help but wasn't much else on it. looks solid enough tough to tell you about online boards especially when there isn't much info about them.

i think 154 would be good more for freestyle sessions, id think you would have more fun on a 156 especially if your mostly freeride.
