Default TRS vs. Riders Choice

Im looking for a new snowboard for between 550-600.

Im an advanced rider that doesn't like rails, but wants to be able to do them.

I rode a DH2.4 that snapped. I loved the Hybrid pro rise camber for my mountain.

There is sometimes lots of Pow so i like to have rocker for that, but still be able to charge and jump. I still love to butter so i don't want a super stiff board.

im 5'11 185lbs

Im leaning to a couple boards out of a selection i created. Please advice me as to what i need. I ride mostly Gem Lake chair at Big White resort, BC.

Gnu Riders Choice 157

Lib tech TRS/skunk ape 157

or proto hd, machete gt, t.rice, a capita, or Rome Mod/agent rocker,

I ride:
Groomers 30%
Pow-30%
Jumps-20%
rails-boxes - 10%
Icey conditions- 10%

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Skunk ape is wide, you don't need that unless you have huge feet.

I think the riders choice is slightly higher end than the TRS. Faster base I think.

If you ride powder chair or cliff chair, will you buy a separate board for those lifts?

lol way to be specific

If you've spent a lot of time on Gem, you would understand what kind of rider i am.

Also, for 2014 what are the differences in Camber between the

TRS and Riders choice.

and also the base differences, Extruded vs sintered?

what are Never summers competitors?

the 2014 model gnu r.c only come in ptx pickle asym. better base sinistered c2btx.

The 2014 tps is different this year its xc2btx which is similar to c2btx expect shorter rocker and taller height wise. goto the gnu web site. it is a twin. it has a TNT base is not as fast as the sintered version.

2 different boards.

I would go for TPS, don't like the ptx. but if yyou find old gnu r.c twin c2btx then get that.

Another good alternaitive is the status snowboards made by neversummer factory. they might still have a sale , but its cheap price fast base and same tech as NS. almost.

Going from a board with 2.0 Pop Rods and Carbon Array 5 to any Lib you are going to feel a loss in "life". Straight up, nothing other than carbon will replace the feel of carbon. Mervin does not use any carbon.

You are much better off with a Mod Rocker, Flow Rush, YES Asym, or Machete GT.

Did you end up snagging one? I'm interested in the same two myself and would be good to hear from someone with similar riding style. Wish I was still at big white, moved back to AB so am stuck with crappy marmot.

Why switch away from the DH2.4? I get that you broke yours but clearly you loved that board. I am not super familiar with Rides line but wouldnt that be the best place to look for a replacement?
