upgrade worth $55 - Snowboarding Forum

i was looking a buying the k2 maysis. i dont know much about boot tech these boots just fit real nicely. is it worth spending the extra $55 to go to the T1 DB. is the liner and the lighter sole that much better in your opinions.

My boot search this season was narrowed down to the same boots you mentioned. I went with the T1 DB mainly because of the vibram sole, which is waaaay grippier than the Maysis. At one point I tried on a different boot on each foot, and it was immediately clear the T1 was far grippier. Important for me when hiking the backcountry, and even nice since I don't run stomp pads, not to mention not slipping on ice in the parking lot. Both boots have the same stiffness rating, but for some reason the T1 felt just a tad stiffer to me though.

They sound like pretty much the same boot, the main difference being that the T1 has an Integrated Power Strap Liner fit vs. the Maysis Progressive velcro pod closure. The T1 sole: Vibram Super Light Sole with Harshmellow Technology vs Maysis sole: SOLE: New HARSHMELITE.

I picked up a pair of the Maysis this year. I have just about 10 days on them so far. I love them, def my fav boots. They are so comfy, and the double boa is so sick.

Based on the above info, if you don't live in the ice coast, the Maysis would be the better buy. I will have to look into the T1 DB.
