To buy or not to buy

I know that I should physically try on a bunch of boots before buying but I kinda want to get a pair of '10 to save money. My question is that my foot size is a slightly wide 12.5 (based on getting it measured today for running shoes). If I were to to purchase a pair of size 12 Salomon F22s would it be a waste of money (in that they def wouldn't fit and I would have to return them) or do you guys think they are worth looking into? I am undecided between getting the F22s, Malamut, Maysis and Thraxis. I know they each have different lacing systems and I have read pros and cons of each of them. Just looking for someone's .02 if you have the time. Thanks in advance!

PS: Setup for '10-11 season is as follows:
NS Heritage
Rome Targa
Boots?? (Going for a stiffer setup to handle runs down the east coast mountains in powder, ice and everything in between)

Do you have an REI or any type of store near you that could order the boots for you?

If you could find a 2011 pair, chances are they didn't change a ton

That is a really good idea. I had evogear pricematch a pair of the F22s for me today and they said they are holding them for me for 48 hours as they only have one pair left. I will definitely take a look and see where the closest REI is to me ( used to have one down the road when I lived in Boston but that a year ago).
