So i had to return a pair of salomon ivys because the locking mechanism was broken but they fit just fine..size 4.5 (22.5 mondo) i decided to stick with salomon because they use the mondo point and I thought i could trust it and i exchanged them for a 4.5 salomon f20w 2010. i think they are a little too small because my toes curl a little (but only on the foot that is a little bit bigger than the other) the same website i got these from dont have a size 5 anymore, all they have is the 2009 f20w in a 4.5. i might just order these because they are only 80 bucks..im stuck ordering things online because i have such small feet and its really annoying me.
i might go to skidazzle in LA this winter or the expo in san diego next month. does anyone know if there's a good chance there would be small sized boots? :/ ughh what should i do? will the 2010 f20s pack out in the toe a little, or could i take them to a shop maybe? |

If you look at any thread on this site they will all read the same. Buy boots locally.
5 seconds of Googling indicates that you have at least 5 shops that sell equipment locally.

I don't know what kind of experience you have or of you've bought boots in the past, but they're going to pack out a bit. If you've got a slight toe curl you'll be fine once they break in. And you can always get them heat moulded

toe curl isn't what you want, you want your toes to be JUST touching the end, so that when they pack out they'll fit nice. Talk to your shop and explain to them what's the problem, I've never had a shop say that they would at least try to get something sent in for me

so i called local shops AGAIN and asked if they could special order smaller sizes for me and they told me that they dont even have that option with my size so forget that. Then i called the website i bought them from (evo.com) and just talked to a c/s there to ask about the 2009 style of f20s and she specifically told me that her friend has the fusion series and they dont pack out at all enough to help with the toe cramming but i could try to get them stretched at a shop. she also said there would be little to no difference in the 2009 and 2010 sizing of the f20s.
plus, after i explained the whole returning of the broken one that fit she was SOOOO helpful and said that once they get them back to their warehouse (i reshipped them yesterday) she will call salomon herself and get the broken piece replaced for me! Hopefully Im not completely delerious and those Ivys were actually too big or something. all i know is that im impressed with evo's service and cant wait to hear back from her and get those Ivy's back. I am still going to see if I can get the F20s stretched maybe since they were only $100 and if i basically bought 2 pairs of boots for $180..that might be stupid but ill wait and see how well the Ivys fit again when i get them back! just wanted to share my story..
