Default noob question

Hello,

I am new to snowboarding, i just finished my level 3 training and is i think its time to buy my own gear.

I live in Dubai, in the united arab emirates and we have something called skidubai with artificial snow and big slopes, basically its a huge snow park, (google it to know more about it if you want), i will also be going to romania this coming winter to snowboard there as my wife is romanian

I am a new to this and i would like to ask you guys if you could recommend the gear i should buy and where i should buy it from (cheapest and fastest delivery via shipping). i will need boots, jacket and pants for now. i cant afford a board yet.

thanks in advance and i hope i would contribute to this forum as i progress and learn more of this awesome sport

cheers

rami

sometimes cheep, and fast shipping just dont mix. if you look hard enough on ebay, amazon, what have you im sure youll find something. is there a snow shop near you? if there is you can often get last season stuff for hug discounts (50-75% off) last year i got boots/bindings/board/jacket/pants for under $500 just from last season stuff

Living in Dubai means there is no last season stuff! everything is new or its not

I looked at DC shoes last night and everything but the bindings and the board costs $498

Dubai is an expensive city to live in. How about doing what other world travelers do and identify stores in the regions you will be visiting and make your purchases there. Obviously, certain regions (such as the Netherlands) will be as expensive as Dubai, but I think Romania will be less expensive. Ask your wife to contact her friends and relatives for shopping suggestions.

Also, in regards to boots: you really want to find a boot that fits instead of buying a boot without trying it on for at least 20 minutes.

Hope this help. Nito
