Switching inner liners

This might sound completely idiotic but has anyone ever taken an inner lining from one boot and put it in a completely different boot? I just bought a pair of Nike Vapens and my left foot is a tad tight but the right fits perfectly (snug enough that itll break in just right) i have an old pair of Salomon Ivys with super feet in them that still work but I kind of just wanted to try something new. Is it crazy to put the left inner liner of the Ivys into the Nikes? They are the exact same size centimeter wise and they fit in the outer boot...it seems comfortable to me but is it going to affect anything negatively?
