Hey everyone bit of a weird post here: has anyone ever pulled the tongue of their boot out before when taking them off?!?
Own a pair of Salomon something-or-others, and after a nice day of freeriding the bloody tongue of my left boot snapped off when I was loosening it to get my boot off! (BTW had these boots for about 4 years now.) Anyway, my question is this: the tongue is still held loosely in place by the laces. I am wondering if I can just keep using them normally, and if I tighten up the laces it will just hold it in place? Boots are mega-expensive and I would prefer not to buy new ones! |

Damn.... tried to get them fixed at a shop and they wrecked it... spent an hour trying to pull their stitches out. Tried the boot on and tightened the laces but it is pretty uncomfortable. Salomon F-20s 2007s: you were good to me, however now I may need to look elsewhere.
I like the F-20s because of the low profile (I am short, 173cm, but have a big foot US size 10.5-11). I am wondering about any other good boots out there that have the reduced profile. Either that or get a wider board

Sorry to hear about your boots. I own a pair of f-22s and they are awesome. The quality of them makes it very hard to believe that the tongue on them would pull out. Keep looking at Salomon unless they have been ruined for you from your experience.

Yeah, I loved the boots - nice and broken in, plus I could make them as stiff as I liked just by tightening them a bit more. Not sure why the tongue came out... I think I was trying to loosen them without fully unlocking the bottom laces. I will give them a go on the mountain this weekend and if a no-go, might look into the f-22s.
