DC boots feel like cardboard. And why on earth aren't they using heat moldable liners yet?
I vote you go to shop and buy whatever boot fits your foot best and don't worry so much about if it has the exact flex or special features you think you need. I rode a whole season in a soft boot in Summit County, now that I'm in SoCal I ended up in Flows stiffest boot. Does it make a difference? Sorta, just get shit broken in more if you want it softer and as long as you don't buy the baseline boots or something like Burton Hails they wont be too soft for you.\ And for reduced footprint, pretty much everyone qualifies for that now except maybe Deeluxe, Celsius, and Salomon (excluding F series).
