My feet are pretty wide and I have high arches. This had made finding boots a nightmare. I just moved to a town between San Francisco and Sacramento (the closest to snow I've ever lived!). Does anyone know of a good shop in the bay area or anywhere along I-80 between here and Reno that would have a decent selection of wide boots and an experienced boot fitter?
I was also thinking about just buying some on zappos but I don't see wide sizes on there and I have no idea which ones would work. Any suggestions on how to choose or get help choosing? Here's what I do know... My feet are 8.5 heel to toe on a brannock device but I normally wear size 10 shoes due to width. I'm planning to use inserts for my high arches (red superfeet I think). I normally rent but last time I bought a pair of used boots that felt pretty good when I tried them on. That trip turned out to be my worst ever in terms of foot pain. Since the boots seemed comfortable on their own I'm wondering if it's a stiffness or bindings issue. I like to go fast and to control the board I have to crank the bindings down super tight. I'm not sure if that's because my boots never fit or they're too soft or if that's normal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
