burton vs sims?

I am new to boarding and am looking to buy my first board. I found a deal on a burton vapor for 400$ and a deal on a sims for 200$. I really wish i could find some more insight on either brand cuz i dont know either very well. seems like everybody has a complete opposite opinion of both. I will be doing just mountain boarding and nothing fancy. Wich would yall recommend?? thanks

I don't think I'd suggest either for a first board. Burton makes some great starter boards, I don't think the Vapor is one of them. If you're looking for used you should be able to find something good for around $200 or so. Board and bindings.

Where are you looking?

On paper that's one of, if not, THE best boards Burton makes.
To some people, it's worth mucho dinero.
If it's in mint condition, $400 is 1/3 of the reg price.

You could probably buy it ride it for a bit (it would be harder to learn on than an average board, but not by that much) then after realizing a different board would probably be easier.
Sell it for more than you paid & buy a whole new set of gear.

TT

If whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.
