Looking for fur

Anyone have any old fur coats or pelts? If so I will buy em if the price is right! I'm wanting to turn my helmet into a coonskin cap because I'm bored and I would look like a snowboarding macrocephalic Davey Crockett. The local thrift stores have not been productive so anyone have any pelts?

Get some sheep or rabbit fur (here you'd get them at handicrafts shops). Warm and soft and not loaded with remorse.

My $.02, go for the faux fur. I agree that animal fur is pretty lame. Then again I love things like leather gloves for snowboarding. Somehow though I don't think that portion of the industry operates like the fur guys do.

I am not so much about the murder part. I eat tasty animals all the time. It is the unusual cruelty that bothers me. Shitty life and then a shitty death. That is just a shitty thing to do to any living being.

If any of you eat meat please don't judge, the way in which meat is manufactured far outweighs the hunting of animals for fur in terms of animal cruelty. And throwing paint on someone is a very ignorant thing to do if your serious. Like seriously, I disagree with you so I'm going to ruin a coonskin cap and all your other gear too? Pretty much goes against everything your trying to accomplish. I have been looking at local hunters and faux fur as well so I'm trying to not be a complete animal hater:dunno:

I do not eat nor wear animals (all of my riding gear -horse and snow- is synthetic). Both are cruel and unnecessary imo. I think what killclimbz might be referring to is the trapping, the snares, etc for animals' fur. Like factory farming, lots of suffering there.

I'd still not throw paint at you if I saw you wearing that as a fashion statement on the hill, as I respect you as a human just as I respect an animal to the point of not consuming them. If anything, I'd wonder why you wouldn't consider another way. Hence why I suggested the faux fur option.

Faux will wear better against the elements anyway; won't stink upon getting wet and will likely dry faster. Plus, you'll have more options in color, pattern, etc. It'll be far more available than animal fur and an easy option. Probably easier to work with (affixing to your gear) as well.

Animals are meant to be eaten and worn. So do what you want with them and if someone threatens to throw paint on you fuck them in the ass with a 12 gauge shotgun.

If you want to get fur on the cheap find a animal shelter that euthanizes and ask them for some dog/cat pelts. Then you can ride around with a pussy pelt on your head and claim it's a giant pussy crown!

Lmao. :eusa_clap:

I love the conversations I get into with the people around here, I'm sure breck is similar, that love animals more than anything. They ask advice for what to do with a sick dog.... I say shoot them and save another from the shelter that's young and healthy.

Burgers for lunch, ribeye for dinner tonight.

Sorry but dogs, cats, horses, sheep, cows, chickens, deer..... Are not humans and it's disgusting when I see people treat their ANIMALS better than they treat their kids, spouses, family or other people.

I worked in a vets office for a few years, a shelter and I had animals in the family for most of my life but they are animals.

I think we should probably neuter and spay some people too though....

Same here, and I don't really mind if traps and snares are used, if the animal gets caught in one it deserves it, it's natural selection, the farms I don't like though. I think if your going to get all hot and bothered over animals you'd be a hypocrite not to go full vegan seeing as what's the difference between a dog horse mouse flea etc. like the PETA motto.
ANYWAY though does anybody have any sources for fur, real or not, that I could use for a helmet cover?

I don't want to hijack this thread but here are my .02 cents. I don't believe in the notion that some non-humans should be killed for fashion, that's just wrong. You and me live in an age where synthetic materials are cheaper, lighter, and easier to produce. I'm no PETA activist, (with all their killing cats and dogs and then fucking lying about it) I like the fur bearer defenders much more. At my job we have a several faux coats, PM me and I'll send you one for free. (I get and employee discount)

....My boxers are made of fur.

Feels like I have little animals in my pants 24/7.
Lol! Just be careful you dont get fleas from the Gnargoyls 'n' Tundra Wookies!

Tell the animals who used to live where the faux fur factory is now how humane it is. Don't forget to remind the fish who live in the river said factory dumps in how "ethical" fake fur is either. And the birds who fly in the factory polluted air and used to get to eat the fish from the now polluted water.

Natural is the way to go IMO. I'd love to have a nice fur coat but the price is prohibitive. I think making a helmet cover is a sweet idea, but my head just doesn't get cold.
