Default FS: 2013 Gnu Space Case EC2BTX 156 Snowboard

2013 Gnu Space Case 156 Snowboard

Bought it brand new this season and only ridden 2x so it is in like new condition as you can imagine. No real damage or repairs whatsoever. Will give it a fresh hot wax and edge tune so it is ready to go. This board features all the new tech from Mervin Manufacturing (Gnu, Lib Tech, Roxy) and is fun everywhere on the mountain. Only selling because I would prefer a longer size.

Description:
Forest Bailey's mind melted with the Gnu designers to create a weird A.S.S freestyle snowboard he calls the Space Case. X Games street champ and Snowboard Mag high ollie winner Forest is a big fan of Banana tech. On the Space Case he has built in EC2 with mild elliptical cambers at each end of his banana foundation for control and pop. Forest has become aware that his body is asymmetric and his turn mechanics are amazingly different from toe side to heels side. To balance nature's bio-mechanical curiosities Forest adapted his own version of Asymmetrical, Symmetrical Synchronization or A.S.S Technology which includes a shorter heelside contact, deeper heelside sidecut, asym contact angles and shape, and asymmetric core materials and flex. All this weird science sounds complicated and mysterious and it is but, the end result is a board that is incredibly fun and naturally easy to ride.

Specs:
Size (cm): 156
Effective Edge (cm): 117
Tip Width (cm): 29.7
Tail Width (cm): 29.7
Waist Width: (cm) 25.5
Sidecut Radius (cm): 8.3/8.0
Stance Setback (in): 0

Tech:
ASYM. TOESIDE AND HEELSIDE SPECIFIC SIDECUTS
Toe side: More finesse through your toes and precise fingertip like edge control. Increased angle of edge attack can be achieved through cumulative articulation of toe, ankle and knee joints. Balance.

Heelside: More power through the heels. A lower angle of edge attack and more power can be achieved due to natural joint mechanics. Stomp.

TWIN ASYM. SYM. SYNC. FREESTYLE SHAPE AND GEOMETRIES
Anatomical oddities: Your body is asymmetric heel to toe your board should be too. Balance through Asymmetry: This board is designed to work with your body's natural asymmetries. . .balancing your toe and heelside playing into the strengths of each sides mechanics to enhance control and performance.

Minimal adaptation: The Impossible A.S.S. pickle is ergonomically designed around your natural kinesiology so you don't have to adapt mentally or physically to use it. Intuition and a dream is all you need.

Imperceptible Perfection: Initially A.S.S. seems mind alteringly weird. . .but what it really means is an easy ride and lots of fun. Ride an A.S.S Pickle and you will feel a difference for the first few turns as your body and mind expect what snowboarding used to feel like and then your body and board will synchronize into perfect harmony and you will achieve a state we call imperceptible design perfection and new levels of joy and performance will be realized.

EC2 PBTX
Fun, Easy All Terrain Rocker/Camber: Rocker between your feet combined with elliptical cambers out to the contact. Kills everything! Easy riding, turning, jibbing and unreal float in pow combined with the tip to tail control, power and pop of camber. The perfect middle ground between BTX and C2 BTX. metal Guru, Space Case, Impossible

MAGNE-TRACTION .5
Serrated edges give great edge hold all over the mountain especially on hard pack and ice! "Turns ice into powder"

CORE
Asym AP1 (Aspen/Polonia)

SINTERED BASE
Compression hardened amorphous UHMW skived from the billet to create the toughest, fastest, best wax holding base material around. Slides best and fastest when waxed regularly to match local snow conditions.

CO-EXTRUDED TOPSHEET

UHMW SIDEWALLS
Ultra High Molecular Weight exterior sidewalls made from soy-based elastomer are laminated to five internal wood layers for totally bombproof sidewalls.

HANDBUILT IN THE USA
Every Gnu snowboard is handbuilt in the U.S.A by weirdos with jobs. Gnus are built with tough and fast UHMW external sidewalls and impact resistant end grain internal sidewalls. Ultra-light weight rugged "polymer bumper" sandwich tip and tails are standard on all Gnus. Steel edges "tucked in" just past the contacts for minimum spin weight. . . heavy unnecessary steel edge is eliminated from the tips and tails. Bi Ax, Tri Ax and exotic reinforcement fiber blends are used individually in combination to tune each board for its intended rider and terrain. Keep riding snowboards built by snowboarders.
