Default Calgary Ski Sale

I realize this is spamy but tough...

www.skisale.ca

The 2014 Calgary Ski Sale starts this week. It's an annual large new/used ski/board/xcountry equipment sale that's 100% run by a couple of volunteer groups. (Canadian Ski Patrol, and the Calgary Ski Club) All of this is at the Max Bell Arena.

The commission from this sale goes to run our club for the next year!

Got used gear to sell?

This Wednesday and Thursday, from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm is public consignment. Check the website for details.

Want to buy new and used gear?

Sale starts Friday evening, and runs through Sunday afternoon. Deals can be had Sunday on items that are marked for 50% off Sunday (consignors option).

* Note: If you want first dibs on used gear, see below

Want to help? We're always looking for volunteers...

Like I said, this is an event run by volunteer organizations, to help pay for our volunteer organizations. If a ski patroller has ever helped you, and you wanted to thank them, taking a 4 hour shift at this would be a great way to do it.

ALSO: Volunteers get first crack at the used gear before the sale opens to the public!

There are still lots of slots open, everything from sales (helping people pick gear), to labour, to security, to... you name it. We need help on various shifts from Wednesday to Sunday. My wife and I are there all day Saturday!

All the details are on the site, but if you want any info you could ask me here too.

Hope to see people there!

Picked up a pretty much brand new Burton Custom 162W with bindings last night for $150! It's a fairly late model as it's an EST board. I'd guess 2011 or so... Heading back tomorrow for sales... We still need volunteers!

So... The Edmonton version of the ski and snowboard show was so bad, I wish I made the trip down to Calgary.

No disrespect to the OP but the Calgary show was easily the most horrific collection of snowboards I have ever witnessed...it was awful...

Haha. I feel like this is one of those "see it to believe it" things. I was just at Northlands and actually left really disappointed/PISSED.

Was thinking of going tomorrow as I'm on a quest for new boots...
Waste of time and money?

I went last year and it was pretty much all outdated junk or oddball sizes. decided not to go this year and buy a beer instead.
