Default Website to AVOID: PFPOWDER.com

I just recently bought a jacket from PFPOWDER.COM A local shop in L.A. (I believe) that also has an online side like sierrasnowboarding. After buying the jacket, I was randomly sent an e-mal that snuck its way into my junk folder. They informed me that SUPPOSEDLY after 5 minutes of purchase, they "REFUNDED" my purchase. I am thankful I randomly decided to check my spam folder today because I would have had NO clue that they canceled my order. (A ruined vacation too). After getting the e-mail and becoming extremely frustrated, I called their store to confront the company. I was transferred to a BITCH named "Cami" who was also the person in charge of my "refund". I explained my situation and she had little to say and didn't even say SORRY sincerely or try to cope their foolishness. My refrund won't be processed for 2 days so I can't order my jacket in time. Fuck off pfpowder, you run a shitty company. I try to support the local shops but it is very discouraging when they pull bullshit like this, and don't even call me!

Thanks for listening to the rant.

TL;DR version.

Don't shop at this shitty local shop / site.

Actually a two day refund is pretty standard. It's not the company that is screwing but Visa/Mastercard. I had the wrong restaurant bill charged to my card a few weeks ago. I noticed it when the waitress brought it back. An honest mistake. She refunded the amount back by voiding the sale and then charged my card for the right bill. It took two days for the refund to come back to my account. Sounds like the same thing here. Visa pretty much does this with every vendor, so I am not so sure you can blame pfpowder for this. They may suck, but this doesn't seem like something they are doing to screw you.

Now if they are refusing to put your refund through for two days. That's bullshit, and let the bad online press begin...

I agree Kill, but it is EXTREMELY frustrating that they are not able to update their online store so that I have to put up with bullshit like this. Regardless of a credit car company's policy on refunds, it's ALL powder's fault for even giving me the opportunity to purchase something they don't even have.

I will NOT be able to have a jacket in time for my trip, complete bullshit, NEVER again will I go buy from a local shop online, they screwed me over when I could easily have bought the same item from a reliable source.

It's sad that local shops complain about fighting with online businesses when they need to get their shit together. And to think they wonder why they are losing so much business. ( I understand not all local shops are like this. )

Where is your trip too? The sales have already started up around here. Sports Authority is having a fairly ridiculous sale right now in the Denver metro. If you are Colorado bound, you could easily swing by the downtown store and see if you can find something to your liking. I am not a big SA fan, but for outerwear, they carry fairly standard stuff that works fine. Colorado Ski and Golf has some decent deals going on now too. Both a relatively easy to get to from I70.

I am sure Utah has the sales going on too. For Tahoe or other regions, I have no idea but it seems like the spring clearance sales are happening early again this year.

I've shopped at the actual store quite a bit (work right down the street), they have always been helpful to me and all my friends that shop there. This is their first year for running a website, but they have been in business for at least 40 years, my dad used to shop there for all his ski equipment 20-30 years ago. I don't know if they run the online part out of the same building, its a small hole in the wall place.

Wow this customer is straight out of a retailer's nightmare. Talk about overreacting and being completely unreasonable when they've done everything right. Shouldn't effect anything, anyways. Buy another coat with a cc since you're not paying that bill 'til the end of the billing cycle anyways, which is 2-4 weeks off. The refund will be in place long before that. Honest mistakes happen, get over it.

I don't live my life on credit. I keep a clean record and only spend money I have. Thanks to people with your "everything runs on credit" mentality, our economy has gone down the shitter. Because I also spend my money wisely, I keep two accounts at two banks, one a permanent savings and other a checking. At the time of purchasing this jacket I spent $800 (including my jacket, bills, etc.)from my checking. That left the account with $50. I live off of the money in my account so I can't just go out and pick up another one. When my paycheck comes in the next week, I will dump it into this account BUT it won't be in time to order anything for my trip.

Firstly, I'm not happy with the shop because they DID NOT notify me properly that they had canceled my order. One e-mail that drifted in to junk is not a proper way to inform a buyer who has a false sense of security that once you buy something (with perfect conditions i.e. had all the money in your account) you should expect it to come no questions asked. My phone number was readily available with all my other information yet they did not call me. Secondly, when I kindly spoke with "Cami" about the situation and to get to the bottom of it, she was rushed and was reluctant to answer my questions, nor even say sorry, - technically her fault -. If you can't keep up your site updated, then you are not running a good business.

Triple, get out of this thread jackass, you have no clue what happened and you make me come off to be the bad guy.

Most companies contact you the way you contact them. Phone order...you get a call back. Online order....you get an email.

Sounds like they contacted you pretty quick when they realized the problem and immediately refunded you. Few online stores have a real time inventory link to their website, they're generally using the same inventory that's on display in the store, no way you can link the two well.

Online order problem dealt with in 5 minutes? Frankly, they sound like a pretty stand up outfit.

^Yup, like he said.

Everything the OP "ranted" about is actually showing that this company has tried to do the right thing, and he's nothing more than another obnoxious customer that is blowing things way out of proportion. Oh boy...and the whole credit rant is ridiculous, not to mention completely irrelevant. If you still can't comprehendwhy it doesn't apply, then nevermind...just stay far away from the stock market for your family's sake. Stick to CD's and 401K's.

I have "no clue" about what happened? We've ONLY heard YOUR side of the story, not even the other side, and yet still find you to be the (what was it you called me...oh yeah) jackass. I made you come off like the bad guy? Did I hack your account and make all those posts under your sn? No, those are your words and opinions, which is clearly blind self-serving bs. We're not here to coddle you and tell you only what your self-righteous ass wants to hear. If you can't handle other people's opinions on a public forum, then don't post. It's so simple that even you can grasp that one.
