Im new and need equipment!

Hello all.

Im new to boarding ( I have never been) but I want to get a helmet before the season starts. Im willing to buy a used or gently used helmet.
If you also have other cheap stuff that a noob needs, let me know because I might be interested.
Thank you!

I suggest you go to your local winter sports shop to try on helmets (same with goggles and boots) and see what fits you. I wouldn't buy any of these items without trying them on first.

Yah bro. Best advice is to make sure you try on your boots and helmets before you buy them. They all fit differently, so just try a bunch on till you find something that fits right. Go with the helmet first and try boarding for your first time to see if you actually like it (you probably will).

Stop by the rental shop on the way up the mountain. They'll set you up with the boots, board, bindings, and most likely a helmet too.

All you'll need ahead of time is a coat, gloves and pants; I suggest you stay away from denim

And, contrary to what a previous poster said, there's a good chance you WONT like it your first time. I mean you'll have fun, but you'll probably fall left and right. I would even recommend wearing wrist-guards so you don't sprain anything from catching an edge.
Not to turn you off - it's a helluva sport once you get confident - I'm just letting you know what to expect.
It took me two solid, 8-hour days to get to where I could go down the hill without falling and go where I wanted to go. It was def worth it, but those first two days were tough.

Edit: have a blast man.
