That shows, that i can pay 40Euro and get the board directly, instead of sending it to US for 160/group, and sending for ~50USD to Kazachstan. UPD: shipping to US/canada shows 120Eu. You mentioned 160. and i doubt we'd buy more then 15 kilos of Virus ))) Taxes are complicated, may be it's be cheaper to send to US, and then to Canadian, if US have no taxes for snowboards. 5% of $1000 is about the shipping for 1 board =) Or divide into two groups for US and Canada. It'd be funny, if 20% they mentioned is the VAT ![]() Also, can you ask about bigger discounts for a bigger group? I can post some topics in Russian boards, and i think some people will like to buy a Virus with such a discount. Like for getiing 5000Euro total - extra 5% off or something like that. I think you can find some compomise. BTW, You should ask, if we all should buy one model or different? That matters alot. Last edited by TLN; 10-18-2012 at 12:43 PM. |

I already asked them about different boards for different folks. When I hear back I'll ask about a larger discount for a larger group. I'm thinking individual shipping would make the most sense. I don't think any of their boards are over 5 kg so it would only be about $50 per board to ship to US/Canada. No savings shipping all to me and then out from there. If they include all boards I'm sure there are a lot of hard booters that might want in on it too... |

yep =)
with hardbooters => bigger crowd => more discounts => more people => more discounts and so on ))I'm a hardbooter, but riding for 1 year only ) Freeride boards is less then 4 kilos. same for alpine, they got more tech inside, but they 1/3 or even 1/2 as wide. |

Just realized it's the owner of Virus snowboards that responded to me!
Pretty good that he's that involved with his business! If we start getting a Virus group buy together I think I'll start a new thread. I should probably kill this one now that the Kessler deal is over.

Unless I hear back from Volkl soon I suggest we turn this into a Virus group buy? I'm in for the FLP AFT it looks like quite the stick! And the fact he'll custom make each one specific to our dimensions is excellent.

You're right. I'm out of oxess and vote for Virus too.
30% is nice, but i tink many of us will think hard of what to choose. I'm 80% out of softboard, and maybe go for alpine.. have to find someone to sell my 4wd. if you will mail virus can you confirm that discount works for alpines too? and the deadline for orders =) |

Alright finally more news (was away for the weekend at a wedding!):
All boards are included in this deal. Just take 30% off the website price. The minimum board order is 4 boards, so I doubt we'll have a problem with that. He didn't reply with a deadline to order, but I'd like to get it done sooner than later as it'll take 2-3 weeks to make the boards and then ship them out. How about a Nov 2nd deadline? He didn't reply with my shipping inquiry, he said it's 120 Euro for one board to Canada, or 160 combined for a whole bunch of them. Anybody know how much it is to ship a board within Canada/US? For what it's worth, here are the prices of their freeride boards in Euro's including the 30% discount: (taken from virus) and then prices in USD beside. I started putting the Alpine board prices in there but that would take all day! They have a lot of board options... Avalanche FL Freeride - 525€ - $680 Avalanche FLP - 700€ - $907 Avalanche FLP AFT - 770€ - $997 Ultimate Freecarve - 840€ - $1088 So TLN or maybe Dice, can somebody pass this on to the Alpine guys? What I'd like to do is get a group around the Calgary area together, and we can all split on shipping (then I can drop off boards in Calgary and area). And if there's another group in the states, and another in Kazakhstan that works for me. So whoever's going to pass this deal on to the hardbooters, PM me and I'll send you my e-mail address to pass on to the guys. I might buy my GF one of the base model Freeride boards as an xmas present, so I only need two more in Southern Alberta to get the deal myself and get the combined shipping. I dont know yet if i will go for a this or not. I've recieved my custom donek incline, check it out here: link I'm still thinking about what kind of board to take. And you must be missed the names, FLP AFT is most pricey, and FR is cheapst of three. And you got it all wrong. Or i can really get AFT for 680? |
