So it seems like the only thing that is custom about these boots is the cosmetics. Why go to the trouble of building a company like this and not give your customers the power to actually design a boot?

If you are gonna advertise custom made boots, then they should come in varying widths, insoles, liners, stiffness of boot, lace systems, etc, etc, etc...

3/4 of my boot is covered by pants, of the 25% showing, 3/4 of that is covered in bindings. Cosmetics are my last consideration for any of my gear, but particularly for the stuff that doesn't even show.

Not being a hater, u asked for feedback.

This will definitely appeal to people who like to wear SB boots off-mountain.

Is this your spokespeople?

Yikes.

Seems a little late for the market research aspect of the business plan, but what do I know I'm a fucking cook.

Thanks for the feedback...
Actually we do have some features for customers to adjust the boots themselves...including the stiffness
like http://www.hutch-magic.com/about/
And it is really a challenge for us that ppl can't try the boots on before they order.
So we try to use these features for the customers to adjust the fitting.
As for the lacing system, traditional lacing system is easier to start off and we are also working on the quick lacing and BOA systems.
Maybe someday, boarders will put pants inside the boots and show it's graphics.

the Spokesman is my friend, Perry....and thanks for his helping me on testing the boots!

Of course, features of the boots are the most important

Of course,
we know that the most important is the features of the snowboard boots.
we will let customers choose the flexible support from soft(free style) to stiff(free ride).
and we also have some features below...

1. 3D tongue
The comfort construction of 3D tongue provides immediate heel-toe response from your foot to the board.

2.Power strap
The power strap will offer impressive leg support to help you make an slick turn on the slope.

3.FCP insole
FCP (foot cushioning pad) insole integrates the softer front structure with a cushioning heel pad to provide additional comfort and shock absorption of landing impact.

4.Toe cap cut
To support the toes and keep them warm, we design a toe cap cut of the liner to tighten your toe with an adjustable Velcro strap. It is designed to adapt all foot shapes including wide, regular, and narrow.

5.Power transmission pad
The power transmission pad is designed ergonomically. It fills up the space between your toes and the outer shell after tightening the toe cap cut of the liner. It speeds up the power transmitting from your feet to your boots.

6.Moon shape heel pad
The moon shape heel pad is designed to wrap around ankle to avoid feet slipping within the boots while doing tricks.

7.Liner Velcro strap loop
The strap loop holds your liner tongue in place even after the strenuous move

8.Heel support system
One piece injected heel cup offers a proper grip of heel for a perfect interaction between the boot and the high-back of the binding.

That's great.

However the point that I think you're missing is that snowboarding boots are an essential part to riding, which is why TRYING on boots, many boots, before buying to find one that fits you like a glove is very important. It's hard for us to do that with your company, because it doesn't seem like there's a way for anyone to TRY yours on before buying.

You should consider mailing out insert or something to have customers mold their feet to, then ship them back to you. From there you'll allow them to customize their boots around that mold. Those would be true custom boots, instead, you're offering boots with a custom design and stiffness. I understand what I suggest would cost some serious money for boots, but I think you'd have a more sustainable market. I for one would be interested in boots made exactly for my feet, and would be willing to pay a reasonable premium for boots like that, assuming they were also made well.

Then again, I haven't checked out your prices, but if reasonable, I'm sure you can find plenty of people who haven't got a clue that would love to have their own graphics on snowboarding boots. I just don't think you'd find that market on this forum. The people who post regularly here tend to be reasonably informed.
