Wow. Surprised everyone is piling on the OP, considering BA came into the thread and purposely shit on it by posting a link to a competitor. That's a pretty dick move for a for-sale thread in general, especially when it was unprovoked.

The OP could've reacted better (read: professionally), but still, god damn.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm about to buy a Phunkshun facemask.

Yah, I got caught criticizing BA for torching a noob trying to sell something shortly after I joined. To BA's credit he saw that I was a noob myself and ignored me.

Can't someone just reply by pointing the "salesperson" to the sticky on selling stuff here? Or pointing out that we don't like people joining just to sell a product?

Shouldn't have to. On every forum whether it's coding or snowboarding or politics or whatever there are general rules and terms of use that are pretty clearly posted for anyone who's genuinely interested in not running afoul of established community. It's the poster's responsibility to seek these out and adhere to them otherwise he's acting like they either don't exist, or don't apply to him, or he doesn't GAF anyways.

It's not like these ppl are totally naive, innocent kids that don't know what they're walking in to. They're deliberately targeting a forum/online community - with no real intention of ever participating in or contributing thereto - merely to drum up a few sales.

The forum's reaction is akin to a door-to-door salesman who ignores my "no soliciting" sign getting the door slammed in his face.
