Default How to age boards/binding?

Not sure if this is the right spot, but I've been kicking around looking at some used boards and occasionally bindings, I'm wondering if there is an easy way to figure out the year? Obviously I'm assuming the owner doesn't know, and I can't find it on a quick google. It seems that most the vendor website don't have way of searching their old gear... Any thought or help?

Take a picture and post it here? I'm sure somebody will recognize the board(s) and at least be able to identify an era at the least.

Outside of that...and I'm spitballing here...get a serial number if there's one engraved in the deck? Not sure exactly what you'd do with it but maybe take it/call the company?

This is one I was looking at...

It's a K2 Disicple for $250 that he claims was never ridden. I'm wondering why he'd mount used Lamar bindings on board that's $600 new.

But I'm hoping there's a trick or technique that some of the vets here know, so I don't have to post every item I find... I don't want to be a pain in the ass.

If the next one you want to look up is a burton, this might help: The Burton Vault

While trying to find out what model my first board was, I found this page with some of the very old boards Snowboardmuseum.de - 40 Jahre Snowboardgeschichte

Just google image search the board name and size and then follow the right picture and within one or two you'll find the year listed in the text. It's not foolproof but works with a little trial and error.

For burton the vault works quite well.

I'll try it. I've never done a google image search before.
