Overstockdealz.com/Consumerdepot.com Fraud Alert
Boys and Girls I'm here to warn you about another rip off company.
After seeing the link someone else posted to their site I surfed on over to overstockdealz.com and checked it out. I thought it looked pretty good at first and on the up and up. After selecting some cheapo stuff (I say cheapo because it's refurbished and the like so I'm not expecting top quality but I wanted disposable stuff anyway) to order I went through the process and then went through the check out.
Well I didn't know that the first order went through as I never finished the process (gf called) so hours later I go back to reload my shopping cart and purchase the stuff. Well they didn't have one of the ipod shuffles in stock anymore. No biggie. I change the order for just the one shuffle and go on through. Finish the order, get the confirmation from the site and a confirmation email. So when I get up day (Friday) I decide to check the order status and see what's going on. In my account on their site there are two orders placed. The original that I never finished nor got any kind of confirmation for and the second order.
So I call them up (Around 12:10pm) and talk to a very nice guy (Who tells me he's just a sales rep for the retail store) on the phone and after some brief conversation and hold he comes back and tells me that he's communicated the information to the correct people that will handle it and that I should email them just as a follow up. Okay says I. Go on about my day. After checking several times for the shipping status of my order and not getting anything I run some errands for work and have dinner. Tonight after I get back and check my email I see that I have an email them about it. I open it up and get some bullshit rhetoric about how it was already shipped and there was nothing further they could do. (See Bellow)
I read this AFTER I've checked my account on their website and see that both orders have shipped. One picked up at 3:26pm (Yay Fedex for scanning when they pick up packages) and the other (the one that was suppose to be canceled) was picked up at 4:58pm! 3.5 hours AFTER they emailed me saying that it was too late that the packages were shipped and they couldn't help me further.
I have their email response with time stamps AND Fedex's tracking reports for my records but I'm really not sure what I can do or how this is going to play out. Needless to say I am EXTREMELY unhappy with their total lack of communications or Customer service about this whole thing. I emailed them (See bellow) with my best no-nonsense I mean business fashion and hope that this can get resolved amicably. I'll update to let you know how it goes.
SO now that you know the story, friends, You have been warned of their fraudulent business practices. These guys will screw you if the slightest thing goes wrong and even if you take action in less than 24 hours to correct it. Be careful if you buy from them.
PS Those of you who had to get in touch with the NC Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Protection to get your money back from Board Paradise, please drop a line on here and tell me how you did that so I can figure it out for TN in case I have to go that far.

I am contacting you in the hopes that some amicable solution may be reached in order to resolve this issue. I contacted one of your representatives via telephone and after a brief time was told that he had communicated the problem to appropriate people and that I should send the bellow follow up email just to make sure. This was done at 12:00pm on Friday November 14th.
I received this email tonight after having checked my account with your company multiple times to check the tracking status of the order that was suppose to be completed. This email was sent at 1:39pm and the packages were not picked up until 3:26pm (I31077) and 4:58pm (I31099 the order that was suppose to have been cancelled). Clearly someones information was incorrect on this matter.
I have read the return polices of your company and find them as an unacceptable resolution to this situation as I clearly took action in time for the I31099 order to be canceled and this issue to be resolved before the items were shipped.
Please contact me via phone as soon as possible so that we may resolve this issue. Thank you very much for your time, help, and patience in this matter.

I just spoke with a gentleman on the phone who said that he had communicated the information to the correct people but that I still needed to send an email.
I have two orders with your company at the moment. I fear that the complication and confusion was on my end but I need to cancel the second order if the first order is going to be completed in it's entirety.

The one I need to cancel is I31099
