Hi guys, I am an average on the board starting to jump and enjoy the extra in riding, I am looking for a second hand good board that will bring me what I need in terms of performance and the ability to progress in my riding and focus on free all mountain ride with jumping for great fun. I am riding max a week a year unfortunately and I want a board I'll be able to use in the next 3-4 years (at least)
I found this guy who is selling a DC lauri pro 2014 156cm and burton custom binding 2014 size L
What do you think about it? Is it good for me specifically? What should I check and worry about it hen I am checking the equipment?
I am 178-9cm and weight around 70kg
My other offer is a Rome reverb 157 with ride maestro bindings...
Yes yes I know, it's not only that I live in Israel we are also very poor on snow. Changing from 3 days to 3 weeks a year if we are lucky!
Basically I am looking for a good level of equipment in a reasonable price since as you probably understand, I don't get to ride that much each year. That is why I decided to go second hand but good equipment... Right now on the s. h. Market in my size and right level of equipment I have found these 2 sets.
Let me ask you this though, if I am looking for an all mountain with emphasis on jumping. What Should I look for in a board, dc is flat. Rome is a rocker... I know there are around 4 types....
Yo dude...Israel wrong country...wrong sport. ...idk maybe we might all doing more of this...perhaps there ought to be an Arab Israel sandboard summit...bomb'n and blasting the dunes...save a camel ride a board. Shiz you could do some rad tow-ins with a sand-paddle-tired subie. I'd do this in a heart beat.

Wow, wrath, that looked rad. Wen I've been to Chile, we checked sand boardjng but the dune where we were was nothing alike, just a short tiny hill, lame. With the 4x4, and such a massive dune, this gets a whild new fun dimension! Wonder if there are good stable winds as well to use a kite...
OP, I second wraths recommendation. Ride as much as you can, whatever recent intermediate board which suits your feet and weight will be ok.
More importantly: Take lessons on your trips, this will help progression a lot more than stending your precious limited time on snow with trial n error.
After all these year and major development in information accessible through the net people still thinks Israel is a desert full with camels. Now don't get me wrong. We have desert. We have camels(in the desert) but luckily it's just in the southern part and unfortunately we don't have these amazing dunes like in the video you posted from Chile.
I'm aware that Israel doesn't have big dunes but UAE is much closer than Whistler, Colorado, Chile, Japan and Siberia...and renting a 4wd and doing dune laps/shuttles has to be less expensive than heli drops. Shit you could even do some full moon riding...get some footy using a drone with ir target tracking and get flowed some swag.
United Arab Emirates, Liwa Oasis, UAE (Empty Quarter)
Liwa Oasis is located south-west of Abu Dhabi on the edge of the biggest sand desert in the world, the Rub al Khali (Empty Quarter). The Liwa Oasis is known as the playground for 4x4 dune-bashing or wadi bashing. Tours are available that include 4 x 4 (mostly Land Cruisers), camel rides and sand boarding.
No need to go long dictance to the places you've mentioned. Israel is pretty close-ish to the Alps with cheap easyjet flight connections. 4hr to Geneva which is a short train ride to Chamonix, Verbier, Zermatt etc.. Big 4000m mtns with lot of terrain to ride .
Sir your thread would be better in the Boards Section.
However since you are only going 1 week/year for 3-4 years...28 days of riding total. It really doesn't matter what you ride. This is because unless you are an exceptional athletic phenom you are not going to progress much nor be able to take advantage of or use the capacity of any board's design...and unless the board is craptastic you are not going to delam it and it will work.
A quick look at the boards specs...both are intermediate level of intermediate brands with a wee bit of camber...ok great an intermediate board will work better than a beginner or expert level board for your 70 kilos...ought to do fine...you decide which graphic you like.
The point about dune riding...is its not about the equipment...its about getting more time riding...so as to progress and get more enjoyment out of the sport. Just seems that if you got 2-3 others, rent, beg, barrow or steal a 4wd, go camp in the desert under a big starry sky and ride all day would be pretty damm epic and not that expensive. In part due to closer travel, not needing all the gortex winter gear, not having to do resorts and lift tickets. As for alot of folks around here...fuck who cares what nationality, race, religious or sex...if you are decent to others and love to ride...lets ride...the other stuff is superfluous bullshit.
Btw...2.5 hour drive to the hill...is nothing for time and distance to alot of folks...go ride more!
Yes, I don't ride enough.
I'll get one of these boards since I've been riding an off siZe beginners board from the early millennium and I do feel it is dragging me down, it's too small to heavy and too stiff without any pop!
It's not that I won't go to these countries they won't let me in, peace and love with cherry on top, unfortunately, to them I am the antichrist (to their governments) I wish I had some proper dunes here...you know what. I am going to sniff around. Maybe I missed something?!
The snowed mountain 2.5 hrs away gets 2 weeks of proper snow a year, whenever that happens, I am there...
You clime twice the time you ride at least... And apparently falling hurts like hell
