I wasnt looking for a 'fight' i was introducing myself to this community, which has proved very hostile for no reason other than to ego stroke some guy out in BC who has the attitude of I'm better than anyone here...

Thanks BurtonAvenger. I hope to meet some other people here who maybe have some class when it comes to speaking with other people. Even when i ask for specifics you can't deliver in any nice way. You resort to juvenile name calling and school yard bully tactics. I still haven't called you any name other than your own and yet you still seem to want to push me around. Why?
truly not the engagement you want bud. you probably didn't lurk very long, but some guys around here are just blunt/rude/dicks/to the point. BA knows his shit, but tends to not be real patient withpeoplewho ask before offering. the community, as a whole, is not hostile, but we can be. seriously, learn to ride, it's the best. better than filming, better than anything.

The problem with what you did was come on here and blatantly tried saying you were a good filmer and photographer just to promote your piece when in reality you are a complete beginner. If you would have owned that and asked for advice instead of lying just to get views the response would have been much kinder. Someone needed to put you in your place.

As for advice, try getting a steady cam or something, Muhammed Ali and Michael J Fox could both shoot steadier film than that.

So i have confidence in my ability and ability to learn. I do admit I'm far better with stills than video however in my area i haven't even heard of anyone even attempting to make anything like this and something is better than nothing.

As far as the steady cam, make /model? Is there a specific design that lends itself well to skateboarding and snowboarding? In this video i used a tripod collapsed down to be a sort of jib pole. Obviously not to enough effect however it did beat handholding the camera.

Why yes I could stop belittling you and talking down to you, but you wouldn't learn the point of what this community is or the fact that you are asking of it before offering anything. Then there's the whole "I'm pretty good" claim. News flash in case you've missed it, you're not. Kind of putting the cart before the horse. Oh and the "I'm the only one doing this here". Yeah I know plenty of Canadians from the prairies that have done what you're doing too.

Seems all you want is people to sugar coat it for you. Oh yes little Timmy your finger painting is so good, it's the best. I'm going to give it a gold star!

Watch some real snowboard edits, watch some Youtube tutorials, and learn the ins and outs of your camera equipment. Then maybe you'll make something worthwhile.
