Toronto 101

Headed up next weekend and I did the CityPass, but what's the best way to get around, GO ticket or the other one that combines the Train and Bus system? Can I buy them ahead of time online? I'm going Sept5-8 so I need a few days coverage. Thanks a ton in advance!

where in T.O are you looking to go?

for $11 a day you can buy a TTC pass that covers the city, streetcars, subway and buses.

Prices

the GO trains & buses are for leaving the city core for the suburbs. So if you're heading out of the downtown that's what you'll use, they sell a day pass, not sure on the cost

hope that helps a bit
enjoy your stay!

I'm staying in a hotel near the airport, then just going into the city during the days and then back at night. I thought I saw somewhere there was a pass that combined both or something?

Is the TTC and the GO trains 2 separate systems or it's all in 1? Can I get the day passes ahead of time online or once I get there at any station?

Two totally separate systems. They link up at certain points so that you can transfer from one to the other, but they have two distinct purposes.

TTC is for everything in and around Toronto. If you're staying in the city, just buy the day passes (available in the stations when you want to ride each day).

GO train is for heading to Oakville/Burlington/Oshawa/Newmarket/etc.

TTC services the airport and all of metro Toronto.

If you want to get around much faster, you can rent cars for about $30+ a day near the airport. Firefly is one of those budget rental companies. TTC is cheap but it can take forever unless you're planning on going to places serviced by the subway.

Oh ok I see. I suspected that but wanted that confirmed lol. When you say takes forever, what kind of time are we talking roughly from the airport to get downtown and be close to stuff? I'll be golden with just a daily pass then, will I need 1 for me and my girl as a "group-2 adults" each day then or 1 each both on Saturday and Sunday?
