Blue Mountain vs MSLM

So they both posted their renewal pricing... I'm so unimpressed with Blue's offers. Last year the spring renewal of 5x7 pass came with 2 day Sunday tickets and cost $190. This year they upped 5x7 to $230 and no other incentives (aside from the fact that rates will increase even further in a month).

I've heard good things about MSLM but never actually checked it out in person. The pricing is better and it's a shorter drive. Their 5x5 pass is effectively as good as Blue's 5x7 for me.

Definitely want to go check it out within the next week or so. Are there any better day lift ticket offers for this late in the season aside from the posted price of $56?

Also, how would you compare the parks in both resorts? I recently tried the Blue's superpipe for the first time, which I think is not matched by any other southern Ontario resort, but let's just say at my level, I'm gonna let that pass.

I kind of like how Blue has so much varied terrain. From very fun adrenalin-rushing trails on the north end, to the mellow Orchard on far south that's so good for practicing basic tricks...

Any other comments as to why you prefer one of these hills over the other are very welcome.

I never ride park so i cant comment on that but I tell people that if they want the "whole snowboarding experience", go to Blue Mountain and if you want to just ski or snowboard for the day, head over to MSLM.

I like MSLM because the drive is closer and right off the highway, less people so shorter lineups = more runs, relatively close elevation/vertical to Blue mountain. All day/night pass is only $50.

That's the rate for those under 17... I haven't been 17 in a while...

I'm gonna drop by and look at it over the weekend, but will probably still go to Blue afterwards since I have their pass.

Spot on.

Not getting the 5x7 at blue next year. I'm over the terrain park... would also like to save some money on gas.

I haven't been to MSLM but after reading tons of forums/messages/reviews the general consensus is that Blue has better trails (trees trails, groomed runs, variety in difficulty and total amount of trails).

MSLM is less crowded on weekends, 30 mins closer to the GTA and have top notch terrain parks in Ontario.

I'm on the same boat as you. Dunno what pass to get. But MSLM 5x5 is 179 until March 29th. Then 270 after that!!!

Blue is 229 then skyrockets to 279 after April 13 (or a date very close to the 13th).

I called a couple weeks back about how much it will increase to after March 29th. It does seem like a pretty steep price increase tho...
