i think there will be tons of protos this year because almost all the shops are sold out of them. i called quite a few stores and they all told me they went as quick as they came.

Like last year you could go on the 9th for $19, check the "Snow Go" special under lift ticket & special rates (scroll down), that is if the conditions are alright but it will be below 0 starting this Tuesday and snowing all week! =D

thanks for info. i assume if i have 5x7 pass i can go on 9th as well? do you think it will be really crowded on 9th to pickup my pass?

5x7 pass is actually not valid on the 9th, only 12th and onwards (15th is when night starts), your pass is day/night mon-fri and night only sat/sun
I think it will be less crowded than the weekend but that shouldn't stop you from going on the 9th to pick it up and it usually gets crowded near christmas break so I guess anytime before that is fine

Some things aren’t meant to be. The inconsistent weather has forced us to push our projected Opening Day to December 15, but cold temperatures are in the forecast. The reality is that the ideal temperature for making snow is below -4*C, and we need consistent temperatures below 0*C through the day and night before snowmaking can begin. Trust us. We want to be out on the slopes just as much as all of you do, and once the weather cooperates we have the resources to make it happen in a hurry!
