I agree that there's little risk of not getting your money's worth at Blue Mountain, over a season they are great at making snow. I was at blue last year from Xmas to New Year's and there was lots of good riding to be had but it was a bit of a fluke. As I recall it was looking iffy int he days prior to Xmas, (only about 3 runs open with ribbons of man made snow) when luckily they got a big dump of snow on either Xmas day or Boxing day, after which pertty much all runs were open shortly after.

Hopefully it's a little colder in December this year.

Last year was pretty anomalous but Blue still did a great job of keeping the snow going and had a better and more consistent base than most of the rest of the northeast. I easily got the money out of my pass on weekend trips only. Since they have reduced the price and invested in even better snowmaking equipment (more guns and the ability to make at -2 instead of the prior -4) i think the pass is still a good investment.

I wish they'd open the new mountain already since they've been steadily raising the price of the 5x7 every year.

Edit: or at least kept the north mountain open past 4:30

hey if anyone has extra double down pass and is interested in selling it, can you please let me know as i missed the sale date of dec. 13th. I assumed it was Dec. 16th like it was last year.

went to Blue yesterday. They were still selling double down passes at guest services. (even though day passes were $29, the couple next to me bough a double down for $79....math is hard!)

Keep in mind you get lodging discounts with the pass too. It makes for a nice vacation to stay on the hill a couple days, have the hot tub and some beers, etc. To each his own but I got good value out of my 5x7s...

Fuck my pass here in Calgary was $1290 on the early bird discount (that ended in June)... I'd love to have a $180 pass option that covered weekdays.

The conditions are so shit at blue right now it makes me sick, I kind of think taking a trip to Banff 3 weeks ago was a big mistake because I went to blue yesterday and was bored

I felt like it was snowboarding for survival not boarding to have fun, should of gotten one of these double down passes and a horseshoe pass like last year
