Blue Mountain on NYE?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone would care to share their experiences of Blue Mountain on New Year's Eve?

Are the runs super busy? Lots of little ones hanging around? Is it a big party? Drunk fest? Are their fireworks? Is there a big countdown?

Just to name a few

Thanks in advance!

Runs being busy depends on what is open. Last year it wasn't too bad (for Blue). There is a big OPP presence during the New Year's event. Yes, there is a lot of drunk people, and noisier than normal but it is also usually not that crazy.

Re: Blue Mountain on NYE?

Just an update for anyone curious in the future.

2012 NYE at the Blue was not busy, and after speaking with some locals, most said that they always come in NYE because it is never busy.

They have 2 fire work shows, one at 9pm, and one at midnight countdown.

The village gets incredibly busy and the main bars charge ridiculous covers ($85.)

If you're there to snowboard, got your own place, and drinks, it can be a blast.

If money isn't an issue, I am sure it can also be a good time; I am a little curious to what kind of crowd doesn't mind paying that much for cover.

I should have seen this thread earlier. My buddy and I used to always head to Blue for NYE. Hills were pretty much deserted (and we had the 5x7 so showed up for night boarding). We ate not at the Irish pub but at the fancy place beside it. Was $50 or so each but that was something like venison skewers and lobster bisque with fancy pants bread and booze. Good times!

Tried to convince my GF to go boarding xmas day this year, but no sale.
