Unless you don't have TV or Internet you've probably heard about this one already but just wondering who's gettin out there for the pow day tomorrow?

I just asked for the day off and got it, now based on the models Blue and MSLM are looking pretty good... Horseshoe forecast for the most, but I am just so tired of the terrain there after owning a pass last year (it's pretty much same size as Glen Eden in Milton)

being that we're in Ontario, there's not much to get excited about. If you show up for open, you'll get a fresh groomer run in. Ontario powder days are like the lochness monster, people talk about it, but if you know better, you know there really is no such thing! haha

Besides that, our forecasters always predict doomsday and it's never that bad. If they say 20 cm, it will likely be anywhere from 5-15 cm at most.

Hopefully I'm wrong on all counts. The one good thing about Ontario, is that when it snows, people actually stay away from the hills. That is the 1-2 days a year I will actually make an effort to go snowboarding here!

Going to horseshoe for a 4 day weekend starting saturday. Hooray!

I don't mind horseshoe being small since its dead in the morning and I can practice without feeling crowded.

If snow falls overnight at blue mountain they tend to leave it there, especially on south base. If you go for the first chairs at 8 30 you'll get an hour or of riding in whatever snow has fallen overnight, last year there were a couple of saturdays/sundays with enough new snow that there was some float to it, say 20 cms.

That said that's about as good as it gets, and it's true the forecasters call for more than what usually falls.

Friday morning will be nice conditions on Ontario hills.

You couldn't be more wrong. I have hit blue at least 2 times now with 15cm of ungroomed powder at Blue this year. First was Christmas break, second was two or three weekends ago on Sunday. The roads were even closed, and half the Blue mtn staff were not there. I spent the morning on North riding powder deep enough to not touch the base all morning.

Last weekend it dumped too, and they had lots of snow early this week. We have had more snow in the last 7 days then even places like Banff ... it is rare, but it happens.

This is truth my friend. Around here I'll take what I can get. Did 3 seasons out in BC & AB, and it hurts me to even consider what I am calling a pow day here. But hey, that's life and you gotta take what you can get and if you really love it that much move out west! I will be moving back at some point in my life, ASAP

It's really hard finding people in ON who are dedicated to actually chase pow, let alone ride more than 5 days a season.

Wherever I go tomorrow I am hoping to get at least one faceshot

Ah, wish I had some people to go with tomorrow morning, looks epic!

Last weekend was intense, I never snowboarded during a blizzard before, was incredibly fun to be on a cloud.

The weirdest part was not hearing the edges carving, lol!
