Same down in London.

If you're in Barrie, here's hoping MSLM doesn't turn into a complete sheet of ice on ya. I'd like to make it there next week.

meh.. for me, i'm skippin gout on that most likely.. i'm all about deals. i'm not paying full price for stuff and at the show, the main stuff i look at is the new technology...

for me, my show starts this weekend... corbetts 50-90% off everything in the store sale... yay deals! if you guys need a new board, it really is worthwhile. i'll probably grab a new helmet for like 25 bucks.

sarcasm... yeah... like THAT will ever catch on...

Snowboard tuneups

I recall seeing a post on here asking about places in the GTA to get snowboards waxed, etc.

I came across this ad, and decided to give it a shot. This was in early Feb & I meant to give him a plug on this board, but totally forgot until now.

He did a great job & only charged $25 to wax & sharpen 2 boards. He even picked them up from my house & dropped them off the next day. He is located in Mississauga, but I think he covers pretty much the western GTA.

Highly recommended!

he's got the west side, i'm out in pickering if you're looking for a tuning or some tshirts. check out snowyunicornlove.blogspot.com if you're interested. Also at the show, it really depends on what you're looking at picking up, my buddy got some Smarty pants for 60% off last year and i got 40% off boots... sure its not 50-90%, but it can still be pretty solid deals

Are there many deals at the show? My friend tells me there's amazing deals there but he has a significant amount of money over me.

Depends what you're looking for. The only real deals of note are on previous year stock, but then, the sales aren't dramatically better than they are right now (at least for things I was looking for). If you can find gear you like right now that's in your size and pretty reasonably priced, I wouldn't wait on it unless you're a really oddball size. A lot of the common sizes and popular stuff might be gone by the show.

Can find good deals on travel packages if that's what you're looking for.

I went to my first Ski & Snowboard Travel Show last year and after all the hype, I was a bit disappointed. If anything, I found that the deals were mostly on snowboard accessories and lift ticket discounts. I noticed that the best deals I came across were the ones from local shops, the ones that are having the 40%-off-sale these days, and also just around the fall season. If it may help, you may want to subscribe to some stores' e-newsletter to get the heads up on when they'll be holding another sale.
