I stayed at home since I was living fairly close (chute montmorency)
If u want to stay close to the hill I suggest this place: AUBERGE LE FOUR A PAIN - Petite riviere St-Francois - Quebec Great atmosphere, cheap rate, very close. Petite Riviere st Francois has a couple other places. Baie st Paul has hotels and is 10-15min away. Beaupre is only 20min away and quebec city is 42mins. There are many affordable hotels along Blvd St Anne as you come into town from Le Massif way (ie: hotel ambassadeur, le regewnt, etc)

I was there the last two weekends. The conditions on this past Saturday night were good, couple inches of snow with hard pack and ice underneath. Crowds are ridiculous though, lines were approx 15 minutes long and a lot of the runs were crowded as well. Do yourself a favour and take the singles line, it will save you a lot of time.

And this is the first year in many years that I'm not buying a season pass. I purchased two full day tickets from blue and two full day from tremblant. Just going to go on a few weekend trips this year and leave it at that.
