Nobody is excited to see our own section for lil ole ontario and east.....

I dont remeber this much snow this early in alot of years.... Moonstone and Horeshoe have been open for weeks, Blues open, and the smaller places are opening up now too...

Southern Ontario keeps getting hammered with snow... YaH!

well this week is looking good for us folks in ontario...

3 little clipper storms are gonna roll through, then cold artic air coming in that should produce some lake effect snow...

conditions have been pretty good around me, but we dont have anything big to ride in london area... was at glen eden a few weekends ago and it was pretty good.

Hitting barrie area end of the month with some guys for a change of pace from the blue scene... were gonna ride horeshoe and moonstone that weekend.

What's Moonstone like? I heard they have a wicked park. As far as Horshoe goes, it's just a tiny little bump. Like something you would slide down when you were a kid. I don't know... maybe there's some cool features or something?

I just went on opening day, when only a couple of runs were open.

Ive never been to moonstone, but did ride horeshoe at the start of the season, it was mid novemeber i think... it was alright, some decent runs, but your right, its nothing huge, but we dont want anything too huge, were gonna be nasty hung over each day... and we did Blue mtn last year, so we kinda just wanna mix it up...

i know there is bigger hills, and better places to ride, but were just looking to have some fun, ride some snow, and drink beer, and harass women...

you from the barrie area???

Naw. I'm in Toronto. I always ride Blue though. Have a pass there. Since I have to drive like two hours to ride around here, I might as well go to the bigger hill and make it worth it. I always ride alone too, so crappy little joints wouldn't be as fun for me (in the big picture, Blue's crappy and little too, but it's big for Ontario). Whereas, it doesn't really matter what hill you're at if you're with tight friends.

That said, have fun getting blasted and harassing chicks at Horseshoe and Moonstone.:cheeky4:

Mississauga member checking in.. I ride at Glen Eden after work during the week as I work 15 minutes from there and I'm usually at Blue on weekend nights and the occasional weekend day.

I'll be up at Glen all day Friday this week, then at Blue on Sunday night and all day/night on Monday!

its pretty decent for what it is..

its right off the 401 west of toronto in milton...

its pretty nice riding actually, i liked italot when i was there last, the parking lot looked jammed, but the hills didnt seem too bad at all....

for a day or night something local, i would recommend it.

i drive from london area to go there... :cheeky4:

Howdy
I am in Stoney Creek (Hamilton)I rode glen Eden once a few weeks back. Small and over crowded. Blue is decent but the best option for me is Holiday Valley in NY. Makes Blue Mountain look like a bunny hill:p. only 2 hours away and much more fun and way more runs

Looking forward to heading back in a few weeks with my new Forum Grudge 154:thumbsup:

Thanks for the heads up about Holiday Valley. Been looking for new places nearby as I'm getting tired of Blue. Seems to be suffering from its over-development...way too many people & icy, mashed up runs. Now I really have a reason to renew my passport :p

Haven't been to Glen Eden yet, although its closest to where we live. Anyone been to Craigleith (sp?) or Devil's Elbow? Opinions?

Went to St. Louis/Moonstone last week, and although its smaller than Blue, conditions were way better! It snowed all day & not a lot of people...even ballsed it out on the black runs! Have to say, I liked it a lot better than Blue.

Heading to Horseshoe on Sat for the first time with a group from my husband's work. Since we're no pros yet, we can still find excitement in the little hills ON has to offer :)

And even though I just bad-mouthed Blue, we're heading up there on Sun, too. Meh, we got 2 for 1 coupons & winter's winding down...I'm just happy to get out as much as I can ;)

Heyyy

I'm a high school kid from Toronto (north york).

honestly though, i hate all the GTA places. they all suck and are too small. The worst would be uplands lol. One ski lift that is super long and takes 30 min to get on.. then u go down the black diamond awhich lasts half a second.

I only actually have fun when i go to Blue mt.

St louis /moonstone is ok... i can "tolerate" it. Horse shoe is only good because of the glades they have lol.

I've only been to tremblant once. damn i wana go agian for this march break march 16-20!!!!! anyone wana hook up? i got a facebook event goin. if you wana join in (so its cheaper for everyone,) message me :D
