Default salomon top sheet peeled TWICE - a lemon?

Hi guys,

I bought a Salomon beginner's board in Sept 2006 and have probably ridden on it about 5 times. Last year, the top sheet was splitting, in length wise from the nose, about 0.5 cm long. I thought this would be warrantied but they said that this is impact damage and wouldn't fix it. I paid to have it repaired.

Fast forward 8 months later... I noticed yesterday that the top sheet is splitting lengthwise the same way at the tail, and it's like 3 cm long this time!

None of my other snowboards that I've ever owned (Never Summer, Rome Vinyl, Option GT Girl) has ever cracked like this... and I've ridden those boards more than this one too. I don't really do "crazy" stuff and have never fell hard on this board. I'm wondering if I've got a lemon??

Some of my friends also say beginner boards are built cheaply and may not last. However, this is a Salmon and I expected better quality....
