Hi, well I just started snowboarding last year and this is my set up right now:

Board: K2 (Don't know the exact type sorry)
Bindings: Burton Customs
Boots: Burton Moto (Size 10)

Anyway I'm thinking about getting a new / another set up this year because:

1.) This year I'm going to a boarding school in Squaw Valley (I'll be boarding daily)
2.) The boards and bindings are extremely cheap right now.

So First thing I'd like to ask is after looking at my set up now should I even be looking into getting a new setup? I'm still a beginner and right now the K2 is fine but obviously with me being able to go snowboarding daily I will get much better and don't want to be having to buy a new board for twice the price in the middle of the season so i'd rather be prepared now. Or should I just wait till the season after this up-coming season and get a board when I know I'm more experienced?

2nd Thing is should I just get a board or a board and bindings? My boots are fine right now and I see no need to replace them within a year or two. However if I do commit to buying a board should I just get a new board or should I get new bindings as well? Most of the boarders I have talked to so far say that Burton stuff breaks easy and that I should stick with Rome or T-9 bindings. So I'm wondering do they break or no? I would much rather get a new pair of bindings for half the price now and be prepared for when my burtons break than not be prepared and half to pay full price.

So Pretty much can you answer these questions:

1. Should I even be getting anything new?
2. If so should I be getting a Board, Bindings, or Both?
3. Should I just wait till next year to get a new setup when I know I'm better?

So yea I know that was a little confusing but PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

It is neaxt to impossible to give you any kind of good answer without knowing what model K2 you have. It could be a low end budget model of K2 or it could be a really decent high performance board. So try to find out what model it is or snap a qick pic of it so people here can identify it for you. From there we can give you much better advice.

As for Burton, I am not up on their gear, but it is really like anything else, they sell some some crap and they also sell some gold. It just depends. Don`t hold me to this, but I think the Customs are kind of on the bargain end of their binding line. If so, you might think about upgrading them. Rome 390`s are solid.

^^Thanks^^...and I don't have the board near me (i'm at boarding school right now making up 5 credits and the board is at my house and I have already looked for about 2 hours to fix this problem but couldn't find it. I think it is prolly near the low end but the salesman said it was a solid board so I really have no clue. But I can give you a description....

The bottom is Royal blue and white and just have one K2 sign. Its simmilar to the Illusion Design except the top of the board has a small wood design in the middle. Thats pretty much it that I can think of...hope that helps.

What about the Targas for bindings? I can get a pair for a little under 200$ brand new on ebay after shipping.

EDIT: The 07/08 Targas would cost about $195 after shipping, the 07/08 Rome 390's would be like $150 tops. Which are better? And what size should I get? I have a size 10 boot so would I get small / medium bindings or large / extra large bindings?

I really have no clue but I think its prolly 05/06 board at the most no way its before that. Its a pretty simple design on it though...very similar to the new illusion except for the middle of the board has a wood type pattern thats like a triangle and prolly 4 inches wide and like 3 inches tall.
