Let me start by saying that I know nothing about how the interwebz work so this may not be even possible.

As you know to add a pic to a thread you need to link it off another website. Would it be possible to change this to a copy and paste situation?

Just to make it easier for people like me. I sometimes have pics that I would like to post but don't want to upload them to photobucket etc etc. I think it would improve the trip report section immensely!

Thoughts? :)

I suggest breaking up the "Boards" forum into subforums:

I suggest breaking up the "Boards" forum into subforums:

Park/Jib - discussion on park boards

All-Mountain - discussion on general purpose boards

Big-Mountain - discussion on monster boards/splitboards

Board Reviews - Share your experiences.

Other Discussion - Camber, Edge types, construction

Rationale:

There are roughly 10,000 topics in the "Boards" section right now. That's a LOT of threads to wade through if you're browsing for only certain interests. Significantly more than any other of the various 'gear-related' topics. This could help people parse the massive number of threads easier, especially for breaking out board reviews from other gear reviews.

The current "Boards" forum is overly busy. This sorting would more efficiently allow posters to access their interests. One example is the omnipresent "Help choosing my first Board" which permeate the forum. I tend to be interested in All-Mountain, and would like to help give advice, or share experiences with new riders - however, it's hard to tell without reading tons of posts (or seeing "Hey newb, try using the search button") what aspect of riding the person is interested in. From the other perspective, as a rider asking opinions or sharing some info, you'd reach a more targeted audience.

I do realize that retroactively sorting posts would be a ridiculous task, however, going forward into the 2010/2011 season it could be helpful.

Hey guys . I have always admired everyones opinions on here . So I thought who better to ask this question to .

I have a friend who is a very high profiled web designer . He owes me a hugh favor because my company sold him some equipment for a great price .I have always wanted to design a snowboarding website . I am only two years old in the hobby of snowboarding , but fell in love with it right away . Anyway he agreed to design a snowboarding website for me with "ANYTHING" I want on it . I have always loved an idea of a forum just like this one , but I figure since its going to be free , and since I know he does amazing work ,what other things could I add to it that snowboarding enthusiast would appreciate??
So that is what I ask all you smart fellas . If you were to find your perfect snowboarding website . What would you include , or what would you like to see on that website ???? Please tell me any ideas , and thoughts you may have . It is going to be a 100% free site of course . I am doing it for a hobby NOT for means of making money . So Please anyone with any ideas I would love to hear it .

Hey,

I don't know how many new users this forums gets but on other forums, membership is done by admins reviewing and accepting people. This is a lot more work but if you require someone to write a few sentences about why they want to join or some BS the spammers will most definitely be discouraged from applying and I bet their English is terrible so if they do write "abut hew mech I luv snowskying" it will be easy to spot. I know I am new here but I wouldn't mind helping to sort through all the applications if others would like to as well.
