Hey, this may not be the best forum to talk about car audio, but I would just like some guidance and help for picking out a solid car audio system.

I don't want just a pair of stupid subs. I'm about to jump into the market for the whoooole deal. Subs, mids, tweeters...all of it. I have been an avid guitarist for 5 years, and have a strong ear for tonality. I barely understand anything about car audio though, this is where I must ask the questions.

What brands should I be looking at?
What price would I encounter for a middle of the line gear and installation?
What tone variations may I notice between different speakers?
What accessories may assist the tone or performance of my system?
What are the cheap but amazing products? (such as the 32 boots, never-summer Evo, and union bindings in the snowboard world)

I dont have a set budget yet only because I want to wrap my budget around what the price of an average system would be.

I also don't want the 'loudest' system. I just want the system to have a great tone quality (because im just a tone whore). Of course I would like it to be decently loud, enough to make it difficult to hear passengers talk. But nothing much louder than that. Its not that important to me.

I will be putting his son on our family season pass so that his son can come snowboarding with us and join the snowboard club at school.

I have outfitted him with a complete set-up except a helmet. I thought I would ask if anyone has a spare helmet that they don't need/use anymore. I will be looking on ebay and craigslist, but money isn't free flowing here, but I am trying to help them where I can. I would be happy to pay shipping. If you are able to help that would be great, if not thanks for looking.

U know what today is?? Its the 71st anniversary of the wizard of OZ. Now where I live is kinda special because L. Frank Baum who wrote the thing was born and raised in Chittenango NY where many of the story features and other stories he wrote came from.

Chittenango has a festival every year. They actually have a true yellow brick road that runs thru the village. They even have the remaining living munchkins come every year as part of the parade they have.

My favorite part is when the flying monkees attack the group in the witches forest.
