Final Fantasy Lovers

So i went to gamestop today to buy another controller ( since i broke it playing COD )

and saw a Coming Soon poster of Final Fantasy XIII for PS3...almost immediately i got wood.

Anyone know anything about this game?

Is the game anything similar to the fighting like in FFX?

To me FFX was the best FF ever created!!!

IMHO FF7 was the best by far actually...

the rest of the others were mostly concerned with graphics, not gameplay or storyline... I hear with the new one, you're only supposed to be able to control one character. IDK much about it though.

As in controlling only 1 character during fighting scenes?

i really thought that FFX had everything...gameplay, graphics, storyline...the whole 9

Sorry but I do not like final fantasy or any RPG's for that matter. My friend in 4th grade always played that game but I never got into it.

It uses a 'paradigm system' where you can only control your party leader during battles... not quite sure what that's about. Initial reviews look promising though. Of course this is from the japanese version.

Read more about it here...

Agreed. FFX came in close second, but FF7 holds the top spot and probably always will.

Final Fantasy VII's storyline was phenomenal. I loved the progression of that game from beginning to end, especially the City of the Ancients. That music, ooooooooooh my god! I also really liked how the game had a variety of styles a player could take to beat it. I actually played through it once utilizing everything the game had to offer, then I played through again using only one party member (Cloud), with NO materia, and ONLY the starting equipment. It makes for a much more challenging game experience!

Then of course there's the whole "three-party-members-with-hp/mp swap/Quad Magic/Mimic/Knights of the Round materia-instant-death" combo; just cast KOTR with one character, mimic him with the other two, then go make yourself some pasta. It's a 1.5-minute cast time, and they're casting it 12 times :)

The only games that compare to it in terms of timelessness are Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger.

I really hope FFXIII delivers, particular the Versus Noctis edition. I really liked the more seedy, gothic nature of FFVII and it looks like they're returning to that with Noctis.

FF7 is the best game ever made. Hands down. I believe the new FF coming out is an MMORPG, but I could be mistaking this FF for another one I know is coming out sometime in the near future. I still have a PS1 controller, PS1 memory card and a PS2 just so I can play FF7. I even named my dog Nanaki if anyone of you FF7 heads remember who that is. Oh man.... Cloud, Nanaki, and Barrett/Tifa/or Yufi kicked ass!

Final Fantasy 11 is the MMORPG game, 13 is the new single player title being released on console. It SHOULD be PS3 only; I'm not sure why they are trying to force it onto XBOX, the discs can't hold enough data to completely capture the whole game; they are actually pruning segments out of the game just to make it work for the 360. This irritates me.

Nanaki is awesome, he makes fighting that helicopter thing in the elevator super easy :)
