Oh god, I know I'm going to end up buying it and being sucked back into staring at the computer for hours on end.

First however, I have to try and get my account back. Someone hacked into it while I wasn't using it, I found out and locked it, and now I have to jump through hoops to get it back :/ I don't care about my characters, but having to re-buy all the freaking expansions would be retarded.

I have to say, pretty much the only games I buy anymore are Blizzard, simply because they are such good timewasters and are worth the money ten-fold in how long you can play them.

right now just leveling alts like a madman
I'm really looking forward to the fact that they revamped alott of the leveling experience, to me leveling is one of the funnest things to do. I hardcore raided for several months preTBC, and it was just way too time consuming. I like raiding, but unless you do it hardcore it's very hard to get anyone organized to do anything.

I hope they haven't upgraded the graphics too much, my laptop has a terrible video card and has a hard time playing anything with cutting edge graphics. I have a beast PC, but living with an off-the-grid solar system prevents me from using it : /

Hah, last character I had was a Warlock and it was justifiably hella overpowered lol.

So, how's the game now that it's out and people are playing it? I'm thinking of picking it up later this month or next month when I'm not broke and have free-time.

Another company that makes epic games with epic wait times is Valve, Fuck knows when Half-Life 3 or whatever "episode" is coming out next, last anyone heard was in 2006? Not to mention Portal 2 has been dated for release and then shoved back like 3 times so far.

The reason why you pay $15 a month is because they fix and update content. If you play the game enough, it's actually a lot cheaper then playing other games, because you figure Joe-Blow-Xbox360 game costs $60 and gives maybe if your lucky 8-hours of single player gameplay, followed by 5-25 hours of multiplayer gameplay,(depends on the game).

Chances are, even if the multiplayer is good,(Modern Warfare, Halo etc...) it's the same formula over and over again and you naturally get bored with it. When your bored with it, you have to buy a new videogame for $60 rinse repeat.

If you play videogames a lot, your buying at least 1 game per month. Over a year that's $720. If you buy and play WoW, accompanied by lets say the purchase of 3 additional game titles, your paying $430 for the whole investment or $400 if you had previous expansions. That's a savings of basically $300 annually.

(Disclaimer: No, I'm not actually Jewish, though I seem to hold all the same financial reasoning....)

i would say my game value with wow vs any other game except maybe modern warfare 1 is over 10 to 1 for wow.
