Lightbulb Whats do doing? Where you at and all that?

A start hopefully...to an amaising thread that will teach me lots of things about something I know little about.

I ski...you see. Im off to BC to learn to SB.

Here are the facts:

Ski, In Europe,

Never been to Canada.

Never riden a board.

Don't have one.

Can anyone offer advice, guidance, opinions, because I feel a bit out of my depth and feel like i might turn around and come back...to skiing......No!! Onward and upwards! Will you help?

it is tuff to be helpful without specifics.

however, i have known many skiers convert to snowboards, but NONE the other way around. so have faith in your ability to remain committed to sliding sideways!

you could entertain lessons, or you could enjoy 3 days of knee and arse bashing.... like many of us have done, to earn your stripes (i would advise the latter; it puts hair on yer chest!)

as for the canuck thing.... well their way of selling multi-day lift passes is totally gay (unless only somoe of the hill is open) but their snow conditions are the same (a bit wetter if you are off to whistler and other 'coastal' hills) and their hills are quite a bit flatter and less scarey than most euro places (but that depends on where you've been so far)

enjoy and remember; fortune favours the brave.
