Once, after getting solid boardsliding on funboxes, I tried on a real rail. First try was more like a squirrely smith/ rock'n'roll, not what I wanted. Second try: "He slides up! he ollies! He plants his board! Solid, right in the center! And, it slips out from under him and he fucking owns his skull on the fucking metal rail. FUUUUUUCK!" Yeah, commentating my own memories. But seriously, I really wish I had been wearing a helmet. If someone has'nt been in a really painful snowboarding accident, then it's harder to convince them. But for me, a helmet after that meant a little more confidence in trying to land a new trick. You know, knowing that whatever happens, you probably won't die........Of head trauma, anyway. Try not to break a neck, now.
